Food for the Homeless
Join our weekly group that goes out to downtown Orlando to feed the homeless, and learn
about poverty issues in Central Florida. We will be distributing Peanut Butter and Jelly
sandwiches, and any other food that we have for the week. Also, you will be hanging out
with other Rock for Hunger Volunteers, giving the homeless some company, and someone
to talk to. Simple conversation can be very healing, and motivating.
Tutors & Meals
Tutors & Meals is our after school program for children in low income neighborhoods. We
help the children with their reading, and math skills. The goal of this program is to help
children with lower reading levels, and lower test scores become successful in school, and
help them achieve their goals, and fulfill their dreams. We want to encourage all of them
to go onto college or other Secondary Education.
Job Training/Housing
Our Job Training and Housing program is focused on helping the homeless, and
individuals in poverty with basic job skills, and basic life needs. It is our goal to assist them
in their job search, and low income or transitional housing.
